  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1โ€“2 tablespoons heavy cream or milk
  • Rainbow sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the filling by combining sliced strawberries, lemon juice, lemon zest, granulated sugar, and vanilla in a bowl. Let sit for 10 minutes.
  2. For the dough, mix flour, salt, and sugar; cut in cold butter until crumbly. Gradually add cold water until combined. Chill for 30 minutes.
  3. Preheat oven to 375ยฐF (190ยฐC). Roll out the dough to about 1/8 inch thick and cut into rectangles.
  4. Assemble by placing a spoonful of strawberry preserves on half of the rectangles. Top with remaining rectangles and seal edges.
  5. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown. Cool before icing with powdered sugar mixed with cream.
