  • 225g Plain Flour

  • 150g Cold Diced Butter

Instructions

  1. Make the Toffee Sauce: In a large saucepan over low to medium heat, combine golden syrup, soft light brown sugar, butter, and vanilla extract until melted and smooth. Pour into a heatproof jug.
  2. Prepare the Crumble Topping: Mix flour, oats, and salt in a bowl. Rub in cold diced butter until crumbly, then stir in demerara sugar.
  3. Cook the Apples: Preheat oven to 180C/160Fan/350F/Gas Mark 4. In another saucepan, soften both types of apples with sugar and cinnamon over low heat for about 5 minutes.
  4. Assemble and Bake: Pour softened apples into a baking dish, drizzle with 5 tablespoons of cooled toffee sauce, sprinkle crumble on top, and bake for 30โ€“40 minutes until golden.
