- 1 cup cold unsalted butter
- 1 cup brown sugar (packed)
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups milk chocolate chips
- 1 1/2 cups chopped pretzels
- 15 soft caramels (cut in half)
- 1 TBS coarse sea salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400ยฐF.
- In a large mixing bowl, cut cold butter into slices.
- Cream the butter with brown and white sugars until smooth.
- Add eggs and vanilla; mix until incorporated.
- Gradually combine dry ingredients: flour, cornstarch, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
- Fold in chocolate chips and chopped pretzels gently.
- Prepare caramels by cutting them in half if necessary.
- Measure out dough using two tablespoons; flatten each scoop, place a caramel in the center, and roll it into a ball.
- Place on lined cookie sheets and bake for 8-12 minutes until golden.
- Sprinkle with coarse sea salt immediately after baking.
- Let cool on the pan for five minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
