Ingredients
- 8 oz flank, skirt, or sirloin steak (thinly sliced)
- 2 packs (7 oz each) cooked or frozen udon noodles
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- ½ small onion (thinly sliced)
- 3 garlic cloves (minced)
- 2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
- 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 3 tbsp water (slurry)
- 1 tsp freshly cracked black pepper
- Optional toppings: sliced scallions, sesame seeds
Instructions
- Thinly slice the beef and season with salt and pepper. Optionally toss with soy sauce and cornstarch.
- In a bowl, mix soy sauce, hoisin sauce, sugar, black pepper, sesame oil, and cornstarch slurry.
- Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and sear the beef until browned. Remove from pan.
- Sauté garlic and onion in the same skillet until fragrant.
- Add udon noodles and sauce mixture to the skillet; toss to combine and heat through.
- Return beef to the pan; mix well until heated and coated in sauce.
