Ingredients
For the Apple Filling:
8 medium apples (such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), peeled, cored, and sliced
1 cup granulated sugar
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup water
For the Crisp Topping:
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup quick-cooking oats
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
Pinch of salt
1 stick (1/2 cup) salted butter, melted
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C).
In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples with granulated sugar, flour, cinnamon, and salt. Toss to coat evenly.
Add the water and mix well. Pour the apple mixture into a greased 9Γ13-inch baking dish, spreading it evenly.
In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, oats, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Pour the melted butter over the dry topping ingredients and stir until crumbly and well combined.
Evenly sprinkle the oat topping over the apple mixture.
Bake for 40β45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender.
