  • 1/2 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 packet French onion soup mix
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped

Instructions

  1. 1. Preheat oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C). Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and caramelize the onions for about 10-12 minutes. Add garlic in the last minute.
  2. 2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, French onion soup mix, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
  3. 3. Add cooled onions and garlic to the meat mixture and combine gently without overmixing.
  4. 4. Shape into a loaf in a loaf pan and bake for 50-60 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 160Β°F (71Β°C).
  5. 5. Meanwhile, whisk together glaze ingredients: ketchup, Dijon mustard, brown sugar, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce. Spread over meatloaf after baking for 40 minutes; return to oven for an additional 10-15 minutes.
