- 1 pound ground beef
- 5 cloves garlic (minced)
- Β½ teaspoon red pepper flakes

- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 25 ounces tomato basil pasta sauce
- 28 ounces diced canned tomatoes
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 2 teaspoons kosher salt (divided or more to taste)
- 12 lasagna noodles (uncooked and broken into 2" pieces)
- Β½ cup heavy cream (optional)
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- Β½ cup parmesan cheese (freshly grated)
- Β½ cup ricotta cheese
- 6 tablespoons fresh basil (finely chopped)
Instructions
- In a large pot or Dutch oven, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add diced onion and cook until soft. Incorporate ground beef and brown it while breaking it apart.
- Stir in minced garlic, red pepper flakes, oregano, tomato paste, and salt.
- Add tomato basil pasta sauce, diced tomatoes, and chicken broth; bring to a boil. Stir in broken lasagna noodles and season with remaining salt. Simmer until noodles are tender.
- For creaminess, stir in heavy cream and add shredded mozzarella if desired.
- Ladle into bowls and top with ricotta cheese, mozzarella, parmesan cheese, and chopped basil before serving.
