- 12 oz wontons (frozen or fresh)
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1–2 dashes fish sauce
- 1 dash rice apple vinegar (optional)
- ½ cup neutral oil (peanut, avocado, vegetable, or canola)
- 1 tsp sesame oil (optional)
- ¼ cup red pepper flakes
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds
- 1 garlic clove (minced)
- 1 tsp fresh ginger (minced)
- 1 tsp sugar
- ½ tsp salt
- Optional: cinnamon stick
Instructions
- Make the chili oil by combining chili flakes, sesame seeds, garlic, ginger, sugar, and salt in a heat-safe bowl. Heat neutral oil until hot and pour over the mixture; stir well.
- In a large pot, melt coconut oil over medium heat. Sauté white parts of green onions with ginger and garlic until fragrant.
- Pour in the broth and bring to a simmer for about 5 minutes.
- Add wontons, soy sauce, and optional rice vinegar. Simmer until wontons are heated through.
